The Talmud says that a person will be called to account on judgment day for every permissible thing he or she might have enjoyed, but did not. Interesting concept: God actually wants us to enjoy things! God wants us to have fun!

Our faith, if genuine, should constantly be increasing our capacity to enjoy — that is , to appreciate, to laugh, to play, to relish, to delight in, to have a really good time. At the end of each day, our examination of conscience should include a question like this: "How much fun did I have today?"

God, increase my ability to enjoy and my capacity to have fun.
