People are now faster than the natural world, literally. That's not just an intellectual separation. It's a real separation. A concrete separation. A physical separation. It's a separation of the body and the nervous system from their former relationship to the natural world into a dimension that moves faster and is tenser and therefore more prone to react speedily and violently to circumstances. This new dimension is not conducive to pleasure, or calm, or contemplation, or understanding, or depth.
