I recently had a profound experience as I knelt to receive communion in the silence. I took the small glass communion cup and noted that the rim was not perfectly shaped — and I knew that same imperfection within. I was that cup; imperfect, not completely formed. Yet I knew, too, that the blood of Christ, the Divine, was forming and shaping me from the inside out — forgiving me, cleansing me, transforming me.
