Sixty-Four
When military language
permeates a culture
when fighting climate change
persistently pummels
changing how we live;
when battle against cancer
repeatedly slays
regimen for health;
when waging war on terror
consistently camouflages
the terror of waging war
that culture is already
at war with itself.
Desire and aversion,
conflict and fear
words of war
turn into
death sentences.
