In a Nutshell: For four decades Buddhist meditation teacher Jack Kornfield (one of S&P's Living Spiritual Teachers) has taught about the challenges of human suffering and the value of the natural freedom which is our birthright and delight. On this Sounds True Audio Learning Course, he presents on ten CDs his favorite dharma talks (teaching sessions) on these subjects and others.

About the Author: Jack Kornfield trained as a Buddhist monk in Thailand, Burma, and India and has taught worldwide since 1974. He is one of the key teachers to introduce Buddhist mindfulness practices in the West and has authored more than a dozen books including The Wise Heart. He holds a PhD in clinical psychology and is the cofounder of the Insight Meditation Society and of the Spirit Rock Meditation Center.

Sum and Substance: In ten sessions, Kornfield takes us through the many different shades of liberation. He starts things off with "The Beginning of the Spiritual Path" with commentary on wise understanding, interdependence, and the mystery of love, and ends with "Freedom: The Way It Is" with assessments of true equanimity, letting go, and accepting change. In between these two sessions, you will find incisive insights into meditation, the deeper truth of who we are, tending the garden of the heart, practicing the art of compassion, enduring difficulties as "the one who knows," the transformation of identity, attachment, and the worth of enlightenments.

Quote to Go: "The sure heart's release is found nowhere else but in our own direct experience — for it is who and what we are. The world so much needs people who are free in this way, unafraid to love every being."
