Rabbit and Hedgehog are best friends who live together and like to have fun. One day while they are sharing a picnic together, a baby dragon bursts out of his egg and is born. While some might be frightened or turned off by this unusual creature, Rabbit and Hedgehog decide to take him home. They have plenty of good times together, but the dragon keeps getting bigger and bigger until he can no longer fit in the small house. Rabbit and Hedgehog are saddened when their friend gets stuck inside and ends up destroying their place.
Lisa Falkenstern has written and illustrated this spiffy book for children ages 4 through 8. Not only are Rabbit and Hedgehog kind and generous, they also model for children that disappointments and even disasters can be turned around and made into something better than before.
