Moo Kitty is a black and white spotted cat who lived an idyllic life with his loving human companion. He and this woman were very happy in a little brick house with a beautiful garden. But one day she went to heaven. People came and cleared out all her possessions, and then, to the little cat's shock, left him behind with the trash. So Moo Kitty becomes a homeless cat on the streets. He is fortunate to have some guardian angel cats who console him as he makes his way in an unknown world.

A kind man finds Moo Kitty on the street, feeds him, and takes him to a shelter where he joins a large number of stray and abandoned kitties and adult cats. He makes new friends but is unsuccessful in his attempts to get adopted. People consistently choose the kittens over the older cats. Then one day his dreams come true: a family of three comes in and immediately fall in love with him.

Moo Kitty Finds a Home is the true of story of author Valerie Lee Veltre's own cat. She has written this picture book for ages 4 to 8 years and does a fine job revealing the plight of abandoned cats and strays. At the back of the book, you'll find a list of the benefits of adopting an adult pet and tips for adopting an adult pet, including how to select one and help the pet settle in. This is a great book to give to your local animal shelter (it may encourage more people to adopt!) or for your vet's office. More information is available at www.MooKittyFindsAHome.com.
