In The Baby-sitter's Club, Shuyler Fisk plays Kristy, a 13-year-old tomboy entrepreneur who convinces her babysitting club in suburban Connecticut to run a summer daycare center for children.

However, her commitment to the project is jeopardized when her estranged father (Peter Horton) shows up in town and asks her to keep his presence a secret from her mother and stepfather. Other members of the club face their own challenges, especially diabetic Stacy (Bre Blair) who is dating an older boy.

The easy-going film, based on a series of bestselling preteen books by Ann Martin, is directed by Melanie Mayron. It celebrates the virtues of friendship and affirms the values of honesty, cooperation, and trust.
