A French proverb reads: "Try to reason with love and you will lose your reason." This 1977 French film takes Pierre (Jean Pierre Marielle) and Jacques (Victor Lanoux) on a vacation to the Cote d'Azur accompanied by their teenage daughters, Francoise (Agnes Soral) and Martine (Christine Dejoux). Pierre's wife is off on holiday at the Club Med in Morocco and he's feeling bad about their rocky relationship. Things go from bad to worse for Pierre when Francoise seduces Jacques, who is divorced, and then declares her love for him. Although the middle-aged man desperately tries to ward off her affections, he is unsuccessful.

Claude Berri (The Two of Us, Marry Me, Marry Me, and Le Sex Shop) makes the most out of the comedy in this situation as the four characters dance nimbly around the ethical questions connected with aging, sexuality, and friendship. In the end, reason is thrown out the window and love wins a sneaky victory.
