When dialogue becomes a habit of the heart, we are poised to engage others in specific dialogues at any time, because our souls are already turned in that direction. We hear something disagreeable and think, "How interesting. Tell me how you got there."

To Practice This Thought:
When you notice yourself reacting negatively to something someone else says, ask the person to give you more background on their experience and why they think, believe, and feel as they do.
