Give yourself more time to do things. Whether you're working on a project, in transit, or just killing time until the next event begins, add extra minutes or hours to the amount of time you think it will take and slow down your speed to use that extra time.

If it normally takes you twenty minutes to drive to work, allow thirty. Experience the pleasure of taking your time, of knowing that you are not feeling rushed. If you can whip up a meal in fifteen minutes, take forty-five. Become aware of how you feel doing the task with the extra period built in. Does the passage of time seem slower or sped up? Are you adding to the enjoyment of these routine tasks, or is your equilibrium thrown off? Do you feel indulged, graced, luxuriated?

Is there much extra time in your day? If so, do you enjoy it, or does it make you feel anxious? What is it like not to be rushed? Is that something you'd like to feel more often?
