Whether you formally meditate or just close your eyes for few moments, move back in time to the very moment that disappointment first occurred. See how it feels in your body. Observe the story line that played in your mind, and see if it's a familiar story that played in your mind, and see if it's a familiar story that plays whenever disappointment occurs. (Mind likes to attach our present disappointment to past disappointments and convince us that we aren't safe unless we obey the voice of fear and heed its warnings.)
