“My eyes grow weary searching for God.”
Like the psalmist from ages past,
I look for you in creeds and catechisms.
I search for you in miracles and visions.
I watch for you in prayer and stillness.
I gaze upon you in tabernacle and host.
I seek you in Scripture and story.
I glimpse you in ocean and insect.
I behold you in pilgrim and beggar.
My eyes grow weary searching for you, O God.
