Dear Lord,
we ask that you help us to remember the children who starve,
not only in the greater world, but here where there is so much.
Help us to remember those children far and near
who have no place of comfort.
Help us to remember those whose protruding bellies are empty
and whose hearts are damaged.
Help us to remember that we who have so much
are called to open our hands
to give comfort, to mend their hearts and fill their bellies.
Help us to remember that your presence is among us
and especially among your children;
through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
