Bathing rejuvenates. We let go of gravity, and our worries are diluted in the water. With a few tricks, however, the power of a tub soak is multiplied.

Add a half cup or more of baking soda or one to two cups of Epsom salts to the tub. Light candles or dim the lights to relax your eyes and face. Let yourself melt into the warmth of the tub. (Waterproof tub pillows add a special comfort.) Rest your thumbs on your temples and your fingers above your eyebrows for a few long breaths. Relax the base of your neck with a cross-hand massage -- rubbing your left side with your right fingers and then the other side. Release pent-up tension in your feet by massaging between your metatarsals (long bones) toward your ankles.

Finally, if your room is warm enough, enjoy letting the water -- and any worries -- drain out while you stay in the tub. Slowly reenter the gravity of the earth with your energy restored.
