I agree wholeheartedly with the great Russian mystics such as Solviev and Bulgakov that Mary is the created Sophia, the created manifestation of Sophia, the holy wisdom underlying all spiritual knowledge. The grace that the Sophian mystics claim for Sophia has three aspects — a mystical aspect leading to mystical union with the divine; a gnostic aspect, communicating gnosis to human beings; and a magical aspect, whereby human beings in union with the divine will can accomplish works of divine magic — understood in the highest sense as works of redemption and healing. All of these three powers of grace also belong to Mary and are part of her working in the world.
