Creative Communications Manager

This position has been filled.

Overview:
We are a longstanding online resource for people interested in spiritual growth and spiritual perspectives. We are multifaith, inclusive, and serve those who are spiritual but not religious. With more than 70,000 pages of content, millions of visitors a year, and 15 years of experience, we are ready to grow! This dynamic position is a combination of organizationally inward and outward focused responsibilities that will be critical to this exciting time of transition and change. The work is both creative and highly organizational. You will keep up with the nuts and bolts of our website content and program offerings and also find creative ways to share our work and mission with the world.

Inside Job:
About half your time will be focused within the organization supporting content creators, editors, and teachers of our programs. This will involve posting materials provided to you, supporting promotions, updating blogs, helping to prepare newsletters, managing e-course mailings, setting up forums, creating surveys, and other similar and related duties.

Outside Job:
You are also our social media and daily design lead. Daily design means working with photo and image selection and editing, and designing simple, compelling visual content to illustrate the website posts and for use on social media. You will also provide technical assistance and then edit recordings of Zoom gatherings, Facebook Live events, and other videos for our e-courses and YouTube channel.

Daily design means keeping our website fresh and up to date. Leading our social media is all about growth, engagement, and reaching diverse audiences. You help share our voice with the world and ensure our communication matches our message, values, and desire to reach new and expanding audiences.

Your skills:
You have an ability to pay exceptional attention to details and also have good promotional-writing, copy editing, and proofreading skills. You are extremely tech savvy and experienced – you can teach us more than we can teach you! You are very familiar with the management of Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, and other platforms. You can manage live and video content across platforms. You understand design and marketing principles and can assess engagement and other metrics to measure our success on various platforms. Minimum 5 years experience in these and related areas.

You work well in a creative team, take directions with ease, and are content to work independently and show initiative, leadership, and self-direction.

You love the online world and know how to make it work!

You have a personal passion for spiritual and personal growth and are inspired by our content and want to help share it with the world.

You have a deep personal understanding of communities of color and ethnic diversity. You understand these important communities and how to represent their needs, interests, and values in your work when necessary. Equality and equity are important to you.

Offer:
