“Pay attention to your body. Even the little things. Start to write them down, or pause and take note of how you feel in your breath and body. If something big comes up you can write it down and either take a look at it or simply leave it alone for the time being. Begin to address the many little hooks and reactions that don’t feel quite so big. Like lifting weights, this exercise is most effective when you start with smaller weights and not with the huge traumas and heavy arguments. Build your strength, curiosity, and resilience.
“Feel What You Feel. If there are deeper patterns that come up and carry memories, thoughts, or sensations in your body, pay attention to the sensations that arise. If there is a strong memory or emotion and no sensation in your body, turn toward your body and try to access the body element of your experience. Feel what you feel.”
