Twice in a Lifetime is a 1985 film which examines the impact of divorce on an entire family. Gene Hackman and Ellen Burstyn star as a working-class couple who have been married 30 years. When he falls in love with another woman (Ann-Margret), all the characters must renegotiate their commitments. The film speaks volumes about changing attitudes toward marriage and divorce, romantic love, friendship, and the relationships between parents and adult children
