Film ReviewBy Frederic and Mary Ann BrussatBatteries Not Included Directed by Matthew Robbins Universal Studios Home Video 1987 DVD/VHS Feature Film PG This film features an elderly couple, a former boxer, an artist, and a pregnant woman as besieged individuals who don’t’ want to leave their homes in a rundown city tenement. The building is going to be torn down for a high-rise complex. Then two little spaceships from another planet arrive looking for a power source. The tenants help them out and, in return, the extraterrestrial critters work wonders for them. Hume Cronyn and Jessica Tandy star in this entertaining and heartwarming story directed by Matthew Robbins. Steven Spielberg served as an executive producer.
