There are certain types of individuals who present themselves in such a passive and endearing way that they soon find themselves played upon by others. Such is the case of David (Christophe Malavoy), the guitar teacher protagonist of Peril, a French film.

Julia (Nicole Garcia), the seductive and scheming wife of Graham Tombsthay (Michel Piccoli), a rich industrialist, hires David to teach guitar to her attractive teenage daughter (Anais Jeanneret). Soon David is having an affair with Julia, who wants to use him to help her get rid of her husband.

David is also preyed upon by a kinky woman who is the Tombsthay's next-door neighbor (Anemone) and a hit man (Richard Bohringer) who has been hired for an industrial espionage assignment.

Director Michel Deville spices the proceedings with a delicious mix of erotica, classical music, and a surprise ending wherein David plays his own song and has the last laugh.
