We were great fans of PopArt where various artists and sculptors took ordinary objects from our everyday life and forced us to pay attention to all the things in our homes, on our streets, and in our communities that we were taking for granted. With their playful art, they challenged us to see the world with fresh eyes.

In Backseat A-B-See, Maria van Lieshout has fashioned a creative picture book designed for children ages 3 - 6. While adults use road signs to help them drive safely, kids can have a lark looking at the symbol signs arranged in this book as an alphabet: an airport, a bike route, children at play, gas, keep right, one way, and yield. This simple but satisfying book reminds us of the variety and creativity of these familiar signs.
