"Sometimes a sign can become part of the furniture, and we stop paying attention to it. Anytime you feel that a sign is not working for you, you can replace it or change its place.

"Here are some reminders of the type you will find at Plum Village.

"These visual mantras appear here without special formatting. Feel free to rewrite them on your computer using a font and size you prefer. You can also decorate them to your liking, or write them out by hand. That way, they will be more meaningful for you. I have a collection of short mantras written on beach stones of various sizes. I used correcting fluid to write with because it comes in a bottle with a brush.

"If you are writing on paper, felt pens work well, especially if you find one with the tip cut to a 45-degree angle. You can find other reminders like these on the Internet. You can start by doing a search for Thich Nhat Hanh's calligraphy."
