In this hilarious French comedy by Francis Veber, the creator of La Cage aux Folles, Pierre Brochant (Thierry Lhermitte), a snooty and highly successful Paris publisher, selects Francois (Jacques Villeret), a lowly accountant, to be the source of a prank at a party with some of his friends. The two wind up at the rich man's home where the unsuspecting Francois is ready to talk more about his hobby of building replicas of monuments from matchsticks.

Director Francis Veber has a perfect sense of comic timing that is the heart and soul of farce. Here the accident prone Francois turns the tables on the elitist, who proves to have plenty of problems himself. Soon the publisher's wife (Alexandra Vandernoot) and girlfriend (Catherine Frot) are drawn into the proceedings along with the accountant's friend, a tax collector (Daniel Prevost). We are all fools, some a little more so than others.
