This is an entrancing and highly entertaining documentary about four gifted musicians who have been making beautiful music together for 25 years. Violinist Arnold Steinhardt, violinist John Dalley, violist Michael Tree, and cellist David Soyer have achieved, as one of them notes, "a kind of magical intimacy" whereby they are able to function as a team while playing masterworks by Haydn, Schubert, Mozart, and Beethoven.

We follow these four artists in rehearsals, recording sessions, and performances in Prague, Venice, Baden Baden, and across America. Although they spend more time with each other than they do with their families, they respect each other's privacy on the road when not playing.

High Fidelity is directed and produced by Allan Miller with Walter Scheuer as Executive Producer, the same creative team responsible for the Academy Award winning From Mao to Mozart — Isaac Stern in China. This time they celebrate the artistic and communal reasons why these disciplined individuals are acknowledged as the world's premier string quartet.
