Jack is a comedy directed by Francis Ford Coppola about the ephemeral nature of life and the delights of childhood.

Thanks to a mysterious medical condition, Jack (Robin Williams) is a ten year old with the body of a 40-year-old man. His protective parents (Diane Lane and Brian Kerwin) have kept the world at bay by providing their son with a kindly home tutor (Bill Cosby). But they finally accede to Jack's wishes to attend school as a fifth grader. Although some of his classmates label him a "freak," he wins over a group of boys who invite him over to a treehouse sleepover. There Jack is initiated into adolescence.

Robin Williams has a flair for bringing out his inner child and in this comedy it works well. Best of all, Jack celebrates the unique qualities which make special people "shooting stars."
