Hot Shots! is a sure-fire hit with its on-target satirical shots at familiar films. Charlie Sheen, Cary Elwes, Jon Cryer, Valeria Golino, and Lloyd Bridges make the most of their comic moments which come at the expense of Top Gun, 9-1/2 Weeks, Superman, Gone with the Wind, Rocky, The Fabulous Baker Boys, and Dances With Wolves. Director and co-screenplay writer Jim Abrahams has created his own mad world based other movies.
