Open Doors is set in Palermo, Sicily, in 1937. A man who has become unhinged after losing his job kills his employer, a Nazi, and his wife. Gian Marie Volonte is a judge who considers capital punishment to be a barbarous act. He seeks against all odds to save the man from the death penalty. This Italian film directed by Gianni Amelio will speak to those who are against the state executing individuals for their crimes.
