It is . . . the cold disregard for others' lives and property (and even their own lives) among many young people that creates the greatest danger and causes the gravest concern. Kids walking into convenience stores and just "blowing people away" is, indeed, very scary. Yet, their frightening disregard for human life is a bitter reflection of the way these same young people have been utterly disregarded by their society. Their cold-heartedness is now a judgment upon our coldness toward them. Indeed, we are reaping what we have sown.
