The longer I was in the hermitage, the fewer books I needed. And even fewer ideas. It was all there — the Bible of nature. It was the only time in my life I was awakened by moonrise. This sensation is so wonderful, it must realign us with something we need deep down. Not having TV or radio or other artificial sounds was delightful. I wrote back and told my friends I felt my ears were as wide as my shoulders, my eyes as wide as my head. In our regular lives, our eyes and ears numb out because there is nothing worth seeing or hearing.
