“I am not the sort of person who draws back from what is holy. Oh, but I do. I do it a hundred times a day simply by my lack of presence and my apathy. Except for God’s goodness, I could be lost. I want to walk through this day trying not to turn away from anything good.
“What does it mean for your soul to be saved? This is a good question and one many people could profit from reflection on, especially people who tend to get caught up on the ‘cheap grace’ of easy and quick moments of being saved.
“Saving your soul is a process. Your soul is you! It is a treasure that needs to come to be like God. Not only does it need to be saved from external death, but it needs to be saved from shallowness, from shallow living.”
