Mantak Chia is a world famous Inner Alchemy and Qi Gong Master who founded the Universal Healing Tao System in 1979. He has taught and certified tens of thousands of students and instructors from all over the world. He is the author of 35 books including Living in the Tao. Chia begins this book with the following:

"The universe has an abundance of energy that can enhance and multiply our enjoyment of life. All we need to do is to be connected to the source."

The challenge is to manifest the energy that resides in our three minds: the observing mind centered in the brain; the conscious mind housed in the heart; and the mind of awareness located in the lower abdomen. When these three get together in the abdomen, they fuse into one mind which the Chinese call "Yi." Chia has come up with "The World Link of Protective Healing," a spiritual practice that takes around 15 - 30 minutes and consists of three parts: a centering exercise, activation of the Consciousness of Three Fires, and the Creation of the Sacred Circle of Fire. All of this energy can be used for self-healing.

For healing to take place the following obstacles must be overcome: subconscious guilt, feelings of being unwanted, and negativity. Chia presents some tools (direct commands and affirmations) that can be used to reprogram our minds from unhelpful activities. The final goal is to harness the power of Yi mind to uplift us to our higher selves. Here is a path for Taoists to connect with global and universal energy.
