There are millions of insects on the earth, and we seem to view most of them as irritants and troublemakers. This imaginative children's picture book challenges us to empathize with plight of the poor housefly who doesn't understand why he is treated so poorly.

Flap and snap are the sounds of fly swatters trying to kill the humble housefly. To make matters worse, this insect cannot get any respect from animals either: cows swish their tails at them and frogs and birds try to eat them alive.

The fly narrator of this book makes a good case for stopping the endless crusade against him. There's a spiritual lesson here about kindness toward for all creatures.
