This clever and whimsical children's book contains words and pictures from Mo Willems who is a New York Times bestselling author and illustrator. He has been awarded three Caldecott Honors, two Theodor Seuss Gold Medals, and one Geisel honor. His debut Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! was inducted into the Indies Choice Picture Book Hall of Fame in 2008.

The duckling asks politely for a cookie and receives one to eat. The pigeon comes along and notices that the cookie has nuts. He desperately wants this new object of his desire. He goes on a rant about all the times he has asked for something and — unlike the duckling — never got it. He laments: "I'm the asking-est pigeon in town!" His feeling of injustice leads him to the conclusion that "ducklings get everything."

The surprise ending to this tale for kids 2 years old and up salutes the virtue of courtesy and reveals how the ideal of sharing remains a bright star in the world of children who, just like us, are subjected to passing feelings of unfairness and negativity.
