Robert E. Kennedy demonstrates how Christianity and Zen can be compatible. The author is a Jesuit priest who has studied for 20 years and become a Zen teacher. Kennedy believes this non-theistic tradition has helped him discover "a new way of being Catholic that grew out of my own lived experience."

For Kennedy, Zen understandings of non-duality, no self, impermanence, and detachment have enriched his practice of contemplative prayer. This excellent work encourages and shows the benefits of interfaith dialogue.
