In this documentary, filmed a year before her death, Helen M. Luke (1904-1995) talks about the search for meaning, the feminine principle, individuation, old age, and the link between spirituality and psychology. As host Thomas Moore points out, she was born in England, trained at the Jung Institute in Zurich, worked for 12 years as a counselor, and then founded Apple Farm, a spiritual center in Michigan.

"Wisdom consists in doing the next thing that you have to do, doing it with your whole heart, and finding delight in doing it. And the delight is the sense of the sacred," Luke poignantly states. Among the friends, colleagues, and admirers who sing her praises are Peter Brook, Dr. Robert Johnson, and Sir Laurens van der Post.

Director and editor Juliana Parroni draws out Luke's inner beauty by contrasting interviews and readings of excerpts from her writing with nature shots of flowers, animals, and trees at the Apple Farm. This touching, sensitive, and thought-provoking portrait challenges us all to see our quest for wholeness as an adventure for a lifetime of living.
