For Sasha is set on a kibbutz in Israel in June of 1967. Rumors of impending war are everywhere. Three young men arrive to visit Laura (Sophie Marceau), a Parisian beauty who is living there with her middle-aged lover Sasha (Richard Berry), a paratrooper with the Israeli military. His biggest trouble is his inability to say no to attractive women. This film directed by Alexandre Arcady scatters its energies among far too many themes moving from love to suicide to the Six Day War, replete with documentary footage. Even so, For Sasha provides a behind-the-scenes look at kibbutz living and the constant tension between individual and communal values.
