The Josephine Baker Story stars Lynn Whitfield in her Emmy Award-winning performance as the world's first black international star. Josephine Baker (1906-1979) made a name for herself in New York as a dancer and then went on to Paris where her performances mesmerized the public in the 1920s. Her heroism was demonstrated during World War II in undercover activities against the Nazis; her stand against racism in a New York club in 1951 was indicative of her forthrightness. Also starring in this Emmy-winning film are Reuben Blades, Craig T. Nelson, and Louis Gossett, Jr.
