This film focuses on a gathering in Berlin on January 20, 1942, of prominent Nazis — including Reinhard Heydrich and Adolph Eichmann. Their agenda: to discuss the implementation of the “Final Solution to the Jewish Question.” In 85 minutes, these military leaders, bureaucrats of the Third Reich, and civilians consider in a businesslike manner how to most efficiently eliminate millions of human beings. Directed by Heinz Schirk, filmed in the actual location where it happened, and based on historical documents, this drama captures the qualities of a horrific nightmare.
