Beliefs give us working models through which to engage with the world. In this way, they are useful. But when they exist merely to shore us up, to stave off our insecurity, they prevent us from being fully alive. The more fluid we allow our beliefs to be, the more we are prone to curiosity and even awe. The truth of our situation is that we don't know what this is. We don't know what the next moment of our life may bring. Each and every one of us is a living wonder.
