In this wonderful children's book by the award-winning author of God's Paintbrush and God In Between, six-year-old Isaiah goes on a quest to find out more about heaven after hearing the much repeated phrases "for heaven's sake," "heaven forbid," and "thank heavens." He tries to find out more about this from his father, uncle, sister, mother, and even the woman who delivers the mail.

It is his grandmother who turns out to be the most helpful. "I am looking for the place grandpa went," he tells her. So they visit a soup kitchen, a library, and a choir practice, and Isaiah discovers that heaven is not only surprisingly accessible but most endearing as well. The delightful full-color illustrations are by Kathryn Kunz Finney. This is a very fine multicultural, nondenominational, and nonsectarian children's book for all ages.
