Jenny and Molly are playing together with a ball. They have a disagreement, and Jenny goes to a meadow angry and alone with the ball. She cries and then feels the sun touch her skin. She realizes that the light has come right inside her. Then clouds appear, and it darkens and rains. The rain mixes with the tears in her hands, and she sees they are the same thing.

Jenny sees Molly coming towards her with an umbrella. They forgive each other for their fight and on the way to breakfast together marvel at how they are connected to the cow, the wheat and everything around them. It is a good feeling that makes them happy to be alive and to have each other as friends.

This simple and elegant tale by Sister Susan with illustrations by Sister Rain is inspired by the teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh who has said of this book for children ages 4 to 8:

"My hope is that as you read this book and look at the pictures, you will really experience what Jenny and Molly experienced and you will no longer feel lonely. You are the sun, the rain, the cow, the milk, the wheat, and the grass. I hope this book will make you very happy and that your happiness will surround you and be contagious to your friends so that the circle of your happiness grows larger and larger."
