Dr. Drew Leder is currently a full professor of Western and Eastern Philosophy at Loyola College in Maryland. He has an M.D. from Yale University School of Medicine and Ph.D. in philosophy from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.

After conducting a study of cross-cultural views of aging, he worked as a Scholar-in-Residence at Chicago's Park Ridge Center. He continues to write and speak on spirituality and aging and to consults with educational and residential communities with this interest. He has also worked extensively with prisoners in a maximum security environment. Using philosophical and spiritual tools, he has explored with them the nature of violence, incarceration, and self-transformation.

Leder participates in traditional scholarly forums and also leads workshops at conferences in a variety of settings. One of his subjects is the lighter side of spirituality, evident in the many spiritual practices and disciplines that have the structure of games.
