Film ReviewBy Frederic and Mary Ann BrussatFluke Directed by Carlo Carlei MGM Home Entertainment 06/95 DVD/VHS Feature Film PG - some mild language, thematic elements Fluke is an oddball movie based on a novel by James Herbert and directed by Carlo Carlei. After Thomas Johnson (Matthew Modine) dies in a car crash caused by his business partner (Eric Stolz), his soul migrates into a dog. As Fluke, he's quite a lover of freedom leading dogs out of a pound and then out of a cosmetics laboratory where they were being used in horrible tests. Although he has a fine time with Rumbo, a street-smart canine, Fluke eventually finds his way to the family he left behind his wife (Nancy Travis) and son (Max Pomeranc). This film has some interesting points to make about animals and about living in the present moment. Reviews and database copyright © 1970 – 2009 by Frederic and Mary Ann Brussat |
