Reflection

  • Do you remember a time when you were made to believe that your body was bad, or that you were bad? Where did this belief come from?
  • How does this belief show up in your life?
  • How does this belief feel in your body?
  • Has there ever been a time when you’ve felt liberated in your spirituality and in your body at the same time? What does that look like to you?

Invitation

If you have struggled under the toxic belief of body-shaming ideologies, write down the lies of negative self-talk that replay in your head. Once you have it down on paper, take a moment to release each criticism out of your body. After you have exposed each lie and limiting belief for what it is, take the paper in your hands and crumple it, safely burn it, or rip it up into little pieces. Witnessing the dissolving of these lies can somatically help your body let go of them as well. You do not need to carry around the self-judgment any longer. It’s time to let that go.
