United God,
We are scared to unite, yet we know this is the path to protection. Grant us courage to organize and come together, even under threat from our employers. Remind us that you are a God who views work as expression of our dignity and identity in the world. The powerful and greedy have twisted work for their own gain, turning every man and woman against their labor and sowing injustice into our wages, working conditions, and benefits. Ground us in the long history of collective defiance in the working class. Renew our commitment to community, inspiring us to push back against the toxic individualism that changes nothing. Keep us from believing the propaganda that teaches us that power belongs to those with money and formal authority; remind us that the most important change comes from a collective voice. Converge the efforts of unions and those who work for racial and gender equality, as white patriarchal supremacy pervades all spheres of culture. And as we risk ourselves in union, grant rest to those who lead the work. Let our rights be protected. Let our bodies be honored. May it be so.
