Sheryl Johnson is a Fellow with The Practicing Democracy Project, a collaboration of The Center for Spirituality & Practice and the Fetzer Institute. She holds a Master's of Divinity degree from Emmanuel College in Toronto, Canada. She is a third year Ph.D. student at Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, California, where she helps coordinate the Women's Studies in Religion Program. She is an ordained minister in the United Church of Canada and currently works part-time at two United Church of Christ congregations in the Bay Area. Previously, she worked for KAIROS: Canadian Ecumenical Justice Ministry. Her current research focuses on progressive economic ethics and religious practices, particularly in mainline churches experiencing decline. She is passionate about inter-religious engagement for social and environmental justice.
