The Favor, the Watch and the Very Big Fish is a zany religious fairy tale set in Paris. A lonely photographer (Bob Hoskins) meets an attractive actress (Natasha Richardson) who does moans for porno film soundtracks. His infatuation with her leads him to an ex-convict (Jeff Goldblum) who turns out to be just right for a series of devotional photographs of Jesus. Everything goes haywire when this fellow begins to believe he is the Lord. Writer and director Ben Lewin chips away at the story's wry little comic observations on loneliness, self-sacrifice, miracles, and love.
