Bless the ordinary tasks of daily life, such as washing dishes, before you begin them. Look for and cultivate the joy that can come from being mindful of what you're doing at the moment, rather than from some anticipated activity. Remind yourself: Joy exists only in the present. Past joys have ended. Future joys do not yet exist. If I miss the joy right now, I will have missed God.
