In the fragmented world of our time, we are deeply aware of the lack of love and the abundance of hatred that prevails. But hatred is not the opposite of love; indifference is, just as spiritual indifference rather than atheism is the enemy of authentic religion. In our indifference we abdicate our divine will-to-life; we opt to disengage from the dialogue of life. We become love-less, and in a sense hate-less; we lose heart and begin to atrophy.
